Zephyr conducted an assessment of a facility to determine whether its location would meet the hazardous waste siting criteria for a new hazardous waste facility and a commercial hazardous waste facility. The project involved identifying the portion of the facility to be permitted and then identifying the distance to sensitive receptors. Zephyr’s Natural Resources personnel conducted a wetlands survey and endangered species survey. A field reconnaissance for visual evidence of near surface faulting was performed due to the results of the review of geologic maps, topographic maps and geologic research. The results of the siting study did not identify any issues that would prevent the regulatory agency from reviewing and issuing a hazardous waste permit.
