YORK, Pennsylvania (December 16, 2014) ─ Zephyr Environmental Corporation (Zephyr), a full-service environmental, health and safety consulting firm, is pleased to announce the official opening of its newest Mid-Atlantic office in York, Pennsylvania. The office is located at 1410 East Market Street, York, PA, 17403.

We are fortunate to begin with a core team of experienced, qualified consultants to initiate our York office.”

Our Pennsylvania Team

Mr. Gregory J. Gromicko, P.E., MBA, has nearly 30 years of varied experience in environmental consulting and engineering management. He has extensive experience with program management, regulatory compliance and agency negotiations, air and waste management and permitting, wastewater treatment design and operations, site investigation and remediation, solid waste management, and radiological assessment. Greg is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and 11 other states and is active in numerous organizations including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Engineering Society of York, the York College Chemical Industry Advisory Council, the York County Economic Alliance, and the Penn State Alumni Association. He holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Penn State and a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh. As Regional Manager, Greg is responsible for Zephyr’s Pennsylvania operations.

Mr. James D. Young, P.G. has over 22 years of professional experience in a diverse range of environmental site investigations, with a focus on risk-based remedial approaches and effective environmental due diligence. During his career, he has specialized in revitalization of brownfield properties through the use of risk management, risk-based corrective action, regulatory negotiations, and innovative remedial technologies, resulting in substantial benefits in regard to cost and time savings. Jim is frequently sought for assistance with property transactions, storage tank matters, project funding, regulatory interaction, and litigation. Jim is a licensed Professional Geologist, and has developed courses and served on the board for the PA Council of Professional Geologists. He holds a B.S. Geology degree from Lafayette College.

Mr. John P. Schmelzle has over 20 years of air quality permitting and environmental consulting experience. He has extensive Pennsylvania air quality permitting and regulatory compliance experience with a wide range of industrial, energy, and institutional clients. John’s areas of expertise include major source (Title V) and minor source air permitting, Nonattainment New Source Review (NNSR) air permitting, Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) compliance strategies, and Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) reporting. He holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry and a M.S. degree in Environmental Pollution Control, both from Penn State University.
